EXPENSIVE, BUT WORTH IT

There are a lot of restaurants in New York that offer good food, but is it worth it?  Below is a list of restaurants that I have learned to love in New York.
  • Sushi of Gari on the UWS.  The omikase is great, but it may break the bank (~$90 for the normal omikase, but can increase depending on the number of sushi/sashimi pieces that you order).  TIP:  If you don't want to break the bank, but want to some good sushi, ask the servers for the sushi menu (i.e. otherwise, they'll give you the omikase menu) and order rolls/sushi for your meal.  Also, you can order select pieces that are usually on the omikase menu (forgot the name of it now, but it has tomato w/ it).   The restaurant is not big and I would recommend going with a small party if you're a walk-in customer.  Otherwise, make a reservation.
