Photo of the Day: Sophie the Giraffe at Thai Market

Hi, my name is Sophie Giraffe. I am very popular among mothers because I stop babies from crying. How do I do it? I let babies chew and gnaw at me -- much like a dog bone, except I'm cuter and made out of rubber. I also squeak whenever my tummy and head are pressed -- which, of course adds extra excitement to a baby's daily routine.

I am produced by Vuilli, a company based in Rumilly in the Haute-Savoie Region of France and I am still “traditionally” produced -- a process that involves more than 14 manual operations. What else can I tell you about myself -- I am made from 100% natural rubber derived from the sap of the Hevea Tree and I was first produced on May 25, 1961.

Mothers love me because I'm safe and I am a great "silencer" to babies who are teething. I'm currently taking a break from mommy Connie Kan and my pal, Jordan Kan -- who is noshing away at a toy ring. Phew, now its time for me to eat!

Well here I am at Thai Market enjoying some vegetable spring rolls... I know what you're thinking -- crazy! me? eating egg rolls... well I have news for you ... just because kids can chew on me, it doesn't mean I can't chew on something else.

A review will come tomorrow ... But, enjoy the photos of the day first!
